Beginning January 1, 2018, the Borough of Carlisle has assumed tax collection duties once again. Carlisle’s Home Rule Charter abolished the elected Office of Tax Collector and assigned the elected body of Council to “enact, by ordinance, procedures to collect, or cause to be collected, all taxes levied by the Borough.” The Tax Collector’s office is officially closed. You will now come to Borough Hall, 53 West South Street for tax collection beginning with your 2018 taxes.
The Borough will collect taxes and also perform tax collection services, such as tax certification.
Please note: Delinquent real estate taxes must be paid to “Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau” via certified check, money order, Cashier’s Check, or cash. Personal or business checks are not accepted unless from a lender or an attorney. You can mail or drop your payment to:
