  • Parks Hours: Dawn to Dusk
  • Dogs are permitted (except Memorial Park) with a 6-foot leash and a pooper scooper. FINE = $300.
  • All Carlisle Borough properties are alcohol and tobacco free.  This includes parks, facility entrances and parking lots.

Facility/Pavilion/Park Rentals

Rental Information

  • Reservations for can be made by stopping in or by calling the office at (717) 243-3318 with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover).
  • Reservations are required for all facility, park and pavilion usage.
  • Reservations should be made at least one week in advance.
  • Full payment must be made at the time of reservation.
  • You must include your set-up and clean-up time in the hours you reserve.
  • Renting the facilities to make a profit is NOT permitted.
  • Continuous reservations may be requested one month at a time, using the Second Monday Rule.

Biddle Mission Pavilion:

  • 6 tables
  • $30/whole pavilion

Carlisle Community Pool

  • Memorial Day-Labor Day (pavilion, private rentals, public parties)
  • 8 tables
  • $40/whole pavilion, plus pool admission fees

Heberlig/Palmer Park Pavilion:

  • 6 tables
  • $30/whole pavilion

LeTort Park Lions Pavilion:

  • 4 tables
  • $20/whole pavilion

LeTort Park Main Pavilion:

  • 36 tables
  • $60/whole pavilion, or $5/table

Shaffer Park Cabin:

  • Closed due to renovations. Check in the fall for availability.

Stuart Community Center (gym, kitchen, stage, meeting/multi-purpose rooms)

Thornwald Park Gazebo: FREE

Thornwald Park Amphitheater:

  • $50/day

Valley Meadows Pavilion:

  • $20/whole pavilion

Cancellation Policy for Facility Rentals

(This policy pertains to Sports Fields, Green Space, Gym and Multi-Purpose/Meeting Rooms, Pavilions, Thornwald Amphitheater, and Shaffer Cabin.)

If you find it necessary to cancel a reservation for a Carlisle Parks and Recreation facility, you must notify our office at 415 Franklin Street during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Cancellation of a rental reservation should be made no less than 7 days prior to the date reserved. Rental fees will be refunded, minus a 10% administrative fee.

If you cancel a reservation less than 7 days prior to the date reserved, we will not be able to refund your money. However, if you reschedule, we will apply your previous payment, less a 10% administrative fee, to a future reservation as long as the new reservation is made the same day as the cancellation.

If the facility is closed due to inclement weather, a full refund or credit will be given.  Sorry, we are not able to issue refunds or credits for failure to show.

Use of Metal Detection Devices in Carlisle Borough Parks

Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Carlisle Borough parks.

The use of metal detection devices are permitted in Carlisle Borough parks under the following conditions:

  1. The activity does not conflict with other visitors to the park, or disturb lawn or  turf areas, rare or fragile plant or animal habitats, or archeological or natural resource sensitive areas.
  2. All disturbed areas must be restored to their original state.
  3. Any artifacts which may have historical or archeological significance are the property of the Carlisle Borough and shall be surrendered immediately to Department of Parks and Recreation. If discovered to be of no archaeological value, items will be returned to the finder.
  4. No specific permit is required at this time.
