The Public Works Department, the largest Borough department, is divided into four divisions consisting of 33 full-time employees and various seasonal, part-time employees. Public Works Administration provides administrative support for all functions of the department. Engineering provides general engineering services to all borough departments.
Additionally, it is responsible for administration of the Borough’s curb and sidewalk program and provides record keeping, construction inspection, GIS and maintains other necessary property and public information records. Planning/Zoning/Codes provide services in support of development including review of subdivision and land development plans, zoning issues and property maintenance. Public Works Field Operations is responsible for providing essential public services such as roadway construction, street cleaning, street lighting, storm drainage systems, traffic signal construction, traffic control device maintenance and composting. This division is also responsible for the Borough’s entire fleet maintenance.
