Let’s talk turkey this week! And stuffing! And mashed potatoes! And all that other tasty Thanksgiving food! While the biggest cooking day of the year makes our bellies happy, it doesn’t make our sewer system happy and can sometimes cause back-ups.
No, we’re not talking about that kind of sewer system back-up! 😉 We’re actually talking about FOG- fats, oils, and greases. FOG can create clogs that cause sewer back-ups and overflows.
Make sure you properly dispose of any FOG this Thanksgiving. Pour leftover oil and grease into a sturdy container once it cools. Scrape fats, oils, and grease from your pots, pans, and dishes before you wash them. And those food scraps should go in the garbage, not down the drain!
