The Planning Commission’s primary function is to hold hearings for the purpose of making recommendations to Borough Council for approval or disapproval of subdivision and land development plans. The Commission also provides recommendations to Borough Council on any amendments to the zoning ordinance. In addition, any plans for revisions in the Borough’s comprehensive zoning plan, which dictates particular uses of land permitted in different areas of the Borough, must start with a review by the Planning Commission.

Members of the Planning Commission are appointed by Borough Council. There are seven members on the Commission each serving a maximum of two, four-year terms.
