Accessing Public Safety Information

Citizens of Carlisle Borough,

The Carlisle Police Department is always working to make the Borough of Carlisle a safe place to live, work, and visit.

From time to time, citizens wish to know why there are police cars, or officer presence, on a particular street. There are several methods of finding out what is going on in your neighborhood:

  • Option 1: Sign up on the Department’s CRIMEWATCH app at: carlislepd.org The CRIMEWATCH app allows you to see where crimes occur, arrests, and wanted subjects.
  • Option 2: Contact one of our Public Safety Coordinators by e-mail. Ed Martin can be contacted at emartin@carlislepa.org. Please note that these individuals are trained and have been instructed to give general information in reference to Police matters in the Borough.

Note: A response to a citizen’s inquiry may be delayed depending on the details regarding certain requested subject matter and/or work schedules.

  • Option 3: For those citizens wishing to file a formal request for information, this may be accomplished through the filing of a “Right to Know” request through the Borough’s Right to Know Officer, Ms. Jamie Long. The Right to Know form can be found here on the Borough website: Right to Know Policy. Ms. Long is also available via phone at: 717-258-1036 or e-mail at jlong@carlislepa.org.

Note: Please keep in mind that some enforcement actions may require further investigation, in which case those details will not be disclosed.

The Carlisle Borough Police Department stands ready to serve and protect our fine community and as such, we welcome your inquiries and suggestions.

Sincerely,
Taro D. Landis, Chief of Police
Carlisle Police Department
