Matthew Boyce of Carlisle Fire & Rescue, Corporal Timothy Mayer of the Carlisle Borough Police Department, and Eric Bender and Ethan Derliunas of the Carlisle Barracks Fire Company received the Medal of Merit for their work rescuing a man and his young son from the fire. An unidentified citizen also provided valuable assistance in the rescue operation. Carlisle Fire Chief Randy O'Donnell hopes this person sees this and comes forward so they can be honored as well.
Thank you to our Medal of Merit recipients for your heroic actions!

Before awarding the medals, a moment of silence was held to honor Firefighter Jerome Guise of Citizen's Fire Company of Mt. Holly Springs, who died in the line of duty on March 9, 2020.
