Last Call for Pickets!

UPDATE 5/24/23: If you were unable to pick up your Fort LeTort fence pickets last month, please contact Carlisle Parks and Recreation at 717-243-3318 or parksandrec@carlislepa.org to arrange for collection.

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Fort LeTort fence pickets have not yet been removed. We apologize for the inconvenience. **Residents are welcome to BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS to remove their own pickets TODAY.** They should be removed by a professional for tomorrow's scheduled pick-up from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Fort LeTort playground at LeTort Park will be closed starting  May 1. Demolition of the existing structure will begin and the playground will be closed for approximately eight weeks to install the new playground.


The Carlisle Kiwanis Club has raised the funds to install the new playground, which will exceed ADA compliance measures to meet the needs of all the children in our community, improved features include poured-in-place rubber surfacing material and an ADA-compliant ramp.

Picket Pick-Up
If you have a picket on the fence of the current Fort LeTort, they will be available for pick-up at the park on April 27 and April 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you are unable to make those times, the pickets will be stored for approximately 30 days. You can arrange for pick-up by calling 717-240-6950 or emailing parksandrec@carlislepa.org
