Deputy Mayor Brenda Landis was first elected to Carlisle Borough Council in 2018. Brenda is the volunteer coordinator for Carlisle West Side Neighbors since 2011, is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Cumberland, and served as spokesperson for Carlisle’s winning entry in the Strongest Town’s Competition. Brenda graduated with a degree in Communications Media from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2001 and has been employed at Dickinson College as a Multimedia Specialist since 2003. Councilor Landis has served as a volunteer on the coordinating committees for Hope Station’s Black History Festival and Neighbors Helping Neighbors community improvement initiative and has served on the Carlisle Neighborhood Alliance board.  Brenda led the campaign to renovate and revitalize Heberlig Palmer Park, which was completed in 2016 and filmed and directed the Cumberlocal documentary in 2014. Councilor Landis currently serves as the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and Co-Chair of the Sustainability and Community Planning Committee.  Her current term expires December 31, 2025.
