Summer Day Camp

This full-day camp is packed full with fun weekly themed games and crafts; pool days every Monday and Friday; movie days on Wednesdays; sports and other challenges; and walking field trips in downtown Carlisle including adventuring at local parks.  Campers will make amazing friendships, great memories, and have positive role models.  Playground Leaders undergo strict clearances.

*Must have completed Kindergarten.

WHEN:      Monday—Friday, June 1—August 21 (No camp: 7/3)

TIME:         7:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m. (Bring snacks and lunch)

COST (per week):

  • $109/resident (live in Carlisle Borough or Carlisle Barracks)
  • $115/non-resident (live outside the  Carlisle Borough - other municipality)


REGISTRATION:

  • Online begins:  Friday, March 27
  • Standard/In-person begins: Monday, March 30
  • Sign up for the weeks you need or the whole summer
  • Registration is required at least one week in advance (Monday of the week prior)


CANCELLATIONS:

  • A $25 cancellation fee will be duducted from all refunds
  • NO transfers/refunds less than one week prior to the start of camp
  • Space is limited *maximum of 30 kids per age group

LATE REGISTRATION:

  • A $10 late fee will apply if registering after Monday of the week prior
  • Registration closes Friday @ 12 PM of week prior

HOW TO REGISTER:


FLEXIBILITY FOR PARENTS:

  • Drop-off children as early as 7:30 a.m.
  • Pick-up children as late as 5:30 p.m.

WHAT TO BRING:          

  • Bag or backpack
  • Water bottle with water
  • Packed lunch/snacks
  • Wear sneakers
  • Sunscreen / sun protection
  • New in 2020...NO ELECTRONICS


OTHER FEES:

  • Movies $1 — every Wednesday
  • Pool — vending money (optional)
  • Ice Cream $ — occasional walking field trip (optional)


POOL DAYS:

  • Mondays and Fridays, weather permitting
  • Pack a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, & vending money (optional)
  • All campers will be tested on their swimming ability on the first pool day & will be assigned a safety zone necklace
  • Non-swimmers will stay with an assigned Playground Leader and wear a life vest when entering the pool

REASONS TO ATTEND SUMMER DAY CAMP:

  • Playground Leaders and Staff undergo strict clearances
  • The Stuart Community Center is a great central location that is close to the pool, parks, etc.
  • FREE admission to the Carlisle Community Pool (1236 Franklin St) every Monday and Friday afternoon, weather permitting
  • Campers will make amazing friendships, great memories, and have positive role models

IS OUR CAMP THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOUR CHILD:
Camp Type: Traditional — wide variety of activities, chance for campers to try new activities, exposure to more campers and staff at varying activities

  • Staff might not be as trained with the skills for your child’s challenges as a special needs or specialty camp. 
Camp Structure:

  • Themed activities/crafts, games, walking field trips, swimming, free play
  • In order for your child to succeed in our camp, he/she must be able to:
    - follow directions
    - use bathroom independently 
    - ability to keep pace with group on walking field trips (up to 2 miles round trip)
     -does not require 1v1 assistance in pool
    *If your child does require 1v1 assistance, we ask that an aide attends camp with your child (see below). 

SUPPORT STAFF:

  • If your child requires an aide (TSS/BSC) during the school year, please contact Knajdek@carlislepa.org to discuss an aide attending camp with your child.
